NY couple sues Revel over slots promotion
A New York couple claims Revel Casino-Hotel’s summer slots promotion, which promised money back for any loss over $100, was misleading.Nicholas and Margaret Peragine, of Long Island, sued in federal court in Newark, Essex County, last week, according to reports. They claim the promotion was misleading when it claimed gamers who lost more than $100 playing slots at Revel in July would get their money back.
The casino actually gave players 5 percent of their total losses in slot dollars, with no cash value, the lawsuit states. Those slot dollars were offered in weekly allotments that disappeared if not used by the prescribed time.
The Peragines claim the Atlantic City casino’s ads did not mention any restrictions and the fine print was “virtually unreadable.”
