Mugger attacks victim with a brick in Midtown
A 37-year-old man was attacked in Manhattan by a man with a brick in an attempted robbery, police said.
The victim, Andrew Billington of the U.K., was walking near 58th Street and 11th Avenue about 11 p.m. Saturday when the suspect struck him over the head with a brick, police said. The suspect reached into the his pockets but did not take anything.
Billington, an avid runner who was training for the NYC Marathon, was listed in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital.
Police have released a surveillance photo of the suspect, described as a black or Hispanic male in his early 20s, 6 feet tall, about 160-170 lbs., with a mustache.
He was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, blue jacket, black jeans, black and white sneakers and a black baseball cap.
