The NYPD is investigating an incident involving two parachuters landing in Lower Manhattan about 3:07 a.m. last night, Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said on Monday.

Kelly said the parachuters are two men wearing black clothing and helmets, and that they landed in front of or near the Goldman Sachs building in the Financial District.

He said he is “not 100 percent certain of the location.”

It is also unknown if the parachuters came from an aircraft, but they were apparently seen walking with parachutes away from the spot where they landed. No vehicle has been seen in connection with the parachuters. Kelly said there is also “apparently some camera that catches them landing in some way, shape or form.”

They were caught on camera between the Goldman Sachs building and the Conrad Hotel. Kelly said the NYPD was notified by security personnel at the location and are combing through video footage now.

Kelly said the parachuters left no banners or notes explaining their actions or made any statements to indicate this could be a political action.

“Obviously it’s something that is under investigation,” Kelly said.

Kelly said the investigation is ongoing.
