Two teens were shot Friday night in Nicetown as they walked home from a high school football game, according to police.

Investigators said the victims – two males aged 16 and 17 – were walking home from a football game at Simon Gratz High School with 10 to 15 other people.

When the crowd approached the 4200 block of North 15th Street, near the Roosevelt Boulevard, they were allegedly involved in a fight with another large crowd.

Police said the altercation touched off “over a female.”

During the fight, an unknown person fired about six gunshots into the brawling mob.

The 16-year-old victim was shot once each in the buttocks, calf and thigh, while the 17-year-old victim was shot once in the calf.

Both teens were taken to Temple University Hospital in stable condition.

They told police they did not see the shooter, according to authorities.

The suspected gunman is described as a 5-foot-7-inch to 5-foot-8-inch tall black male of about 20 years old and weighing about 150 pounds.

He has a medium build, a dark complexion and close-cropped hair, according to police.

The suspect was last seen wearing blue jeans and a blue and gray multicolored t-shirt and running north on 15th Street.

Anyone with information on the suspect or crime is asked to call 911, or to submit an anonymous tip by dialing 215-686-TIPS (8477), texting PPD TIP (773847), emailing tips@phillypolice.com or by filling out this online form.
