Suspect wanted in Juniata Park rape, abduction attempts
Philadelphia police are seeking the public’s help identifying the suspect in a series of recent attempted abductions and a sexual assault in the city’s Juniata Park section.
The latest attempted abduction happened between 7:10 and 7:20 a.m. Tuesday on the 4200 block of Neilson Street, according to police.
Police posted surveillance video of the suspect to YouTube on Tuesday.
The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male in his late 20s or early 30s with short hair, a mustache and goatee — possibly a beard — and about 6 feet tall.
All three crimes occurred during morning hours. The suspect was armed with a gun in all three incidents.
The first crime, a rape at gunpoint, happened about 6:30 a.m. on Oct. 10 in the area of 1400 E. Lycoming Ave. A little more than five hours later, the suspect attempted to abduct a 20-year-old woman in the area of 4200 O St.
Police have called a press conference for 10:30 a.m. today to address the recent crimes.
