A police officer in Derry, N.H. believes he was intentionally served a raw hamburger that made him violently ill at an area McDonald’s.

While working the night shift, officer Rob Moore frequently stops at the McDonald’s drive-thru to grab a double quarter pounder with cheese.  But on this particular night, the hungry cop says he devoured his meal only to realize it was entirely uncooked.

“I was the only one at the restaurant. I drove through and I was in full uniform,” Officer Rob Moore told WBZ. “I took the bun off and the first patty was cooked, the second patty revealed a raw mess and I’m sitting there holding that. I couldn’t believe what I just ate.”

A few hours later, Moore became violently ill.

“A lot of people don’t like police officers, all the circumstances are there. Only one there in full uniform and it was obviously cooked after I arrived,” said Moore.

After contacting the franchise manager, Moore says surveillance video revealed what really happened.

“I was told you could see him actually put the patty into the cooker, trying to close the mechanism a couple of times, eventually taking it out and putting it on the bun and serving it to me like that,” he said. “It’s unacceptable.”

In a statement to WBZ, McDonald’s responded that they “take matters regarding food safety and quality very seriously. We have investigated the issue and have resolved the customer’s concern at the restaurant level.”

“They assured me this wouldn’t happen again,” Moore said. “But I’m still unhappy. I can’t believe someone would do that to a person.”
