Historic Roseland Ballroom might close its doors permanently
Goodbye, Roseland Ballroom. The historic Midtown venue will close in April, Billboard.com reported Saturday, citing an internal email.
The Roseland began as a popular ragtime and jazz venue in the 1920s, but in recent decades Fred Astaire has been succeeded by acts like Madonna, the Rolling Stones and Beyoncé.
Those wanting to catch a show at the Roseland still have plenty of opportunities: Upcoming concerts at the venue include Chris Brown and Danity Kane, New World Punx and Panic! At The Disco.
