Salem High School on lockdown after man tries to kill his mother
Salem High School in Salem, N.H. was put on lockdown Thursday morning after a man reportedly attempted to kill his mother with a hammer.
WMUR reports police are looking for a green Kia Sephia with NH plates with numbers that read either 3171993 or 3411012 driven by Thomas George, 18, who is suspected of attempting to kill his mother. The car also has an air force stick on the back.
George’s mother was reportedly stabbed and beaten with a hammer at her home on Cluff Crossing Road.
The high school is not related to the specific crime, but George has connections to the school, WMUR reports. Authorities have added extra police to the area for added safety.
Police ask anyone who sees George to call 911 immediately. He may be armed with a knife or hammer and is considered dangerous.
On Tuesday night, a Danvers High School teacher named Colleen Ritzer was allegedly murdered by her student Philip Chism. Ritzer’s body was found in the wooded area behind the school.
