Update: Gov. Chris Christie tonight cancelled his speaking engagement at the Committee of Seventy annual breakfast meeting.

According to a news release, Christie officials told the Committee of Seventy the governor isn’t feeling well. The event will be rescheduled and the food that was going to be served will now be donated.

“Obviously we are very sorry for any inconvenience that results from this cancellation and we hope Governor Christie is better soon,” said Zack Stalberg, Seventy’s president and CEO.

Original: President Barack Obama will be in Philadelphia Thursday, headlining a Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee fundraiser.

There is no Senate race in Pennsylvania next year; Obama’s visit is thought to be more on a national scale.

According to reports, Air Force One will land in Philadelphia shortly before 6 p.m. and leave shortly after 9 p.m. The location of the committee meeting was unknown as off press time.

Thursday morning, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is speaking at the Annual Breakfast of the Committee of Seventy at the Hyatt at the Bellevue in Center City.

The non-partisan group switches between Democrat and Republican speakers for its yearly event.

Christie last week was re-elected as governor, easily beating opponent Barbara Buono.
