VIDEO: Philadelphia police seek suspect in five armed robberies

Philadelphia police are seeking a suspect wanted in connection with five armed robberies in Cobbs Creek, Kingsessing and Haddington on Nov. 13 and 14.

Police posted surveillance video footage of the suspect to YouTube on Monday.

The suspect is described by police as a dark-skinned black male, about 20 years old and  5 feet 6 inches tall. He was wearing a blue hoodie with white strings, gloves and jeans in the robberies.

The first robbery happened about 6:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at Natural Coffee, located at 715 S. 52nd St. The suspect, wearing a blue face mask, pointed a gun at an employee before fleeing with an undetermined amount of crash west on Webster Street.

The second robbery happened just before 1 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Cricket Wireless store located at 5547 Baltimore Ave. The suspect jumped a counter while brandishing a handgun, emptying a cash register after an employee locked himself in a back room.

About an hour after the Cricket robbery, the suspect entered Lucky 7 Food Market, located at 54 N. 57th St., wearing a mask and pointed a handgun at an employee while demanding money.  The employee confronted the suspect and a struggle ensued, according to police. The suspect fled on foot.

The fourth robbery occurred about 7:20 p.m. Nov. 14 at Ace Cash Express, located at 738 S. 52nd St. The suspect fled south on 52nd Street with $3 he took from the victim after several failed attempts to get into a cash register. Police noted the victim pushed a panic alarm after the suspect forced his way into the store by pointing a gun at her as she was locking up.

The fifth robbery occurred about 8:10 p.m. Nov. 14 at Daslin Grocery, located at 700 S. 55th St. The suspect , who was wearing a white mask and armed with a handgun, left the store without any money after the victims told him they did not speak English.

Police ask anyone with information about the suspect to call Southwest Detectives Division at 215-686-3183/3184.
