Men pose as utility workers to rob elderly Abington resident
Two men are suspected of posing as utility workers and stealing jewelry worth $10,000 from an elderly Abington resident, reports say.
Police announced Tuesday that they are looking for the two men who on Nov. 14 knocked on a door on Mill Road in Meadowbrook, according to WPVI Action News.
Police told Action News that the two men told the resident that a neighbor’s basement had flooded, so they were checking other houses in the area for similar damage.
One man allegedly distracted the resident while the other stole the jewelry.
The first man wore a blue hard hat, tan pants and coat, according to the news outlet. He’s described as a white male, between the ages of 50 and 55, with an olive complexion and medium build.
The second man, also described as a white man, had combed-back, thinning hair with a similar olive complexion. He was wearing blue pants and a hooded sweatshirt. Police told the news outlet he had a medium build, stood 5-foot-8 and looked to be about 45 years old.
