Police have charged Keith McClary as suspect in this robbery, caught on tape.

Police have arrested a suspect in the robberies of four Center City eateries by a perpetrator whose trademark was breaking in by hurling bricks through glass doors and windows.

Keith McClary, 56, of the 700 block of South Martin Street, was arrested on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Officers encountered him on the 300 block of South 19th Street and identified him as the same suspect in the security camera footage.

A search warrant executed at McClary’s home recovered items of clothing, including a black leather jacket, worn by the suspect on the surveillance tape.

Police say McClary is responsible for four robberies in the month of December: at the Palm Tree on Dec. 1, at Omega Pizza on Dec. 7, at Honey’s Sit and Eat on Dec. 8, and at Gavin’s Café on Dec. 9.

In each robbery, a brick or other large object was thrown through the window, but the suspect was not always successful.

In one of the four robberies, the suspect was unable to open the cash register and left empty-handed, according to police.
