After 12 years, Mayor Michael Bloomberg made his debut on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend.

The mayor mocked the soda ban, joked about his awkward Spanish and what’s next during a three-minute appearance with host Jimmy Fallon and and Seth Meyers for the “Weekend Update” portion of the show.

When asked what was next, the mayor said, “I’ll be fulfilling a lifelong dream of enjoying a small soda on a nonsmoking beach.” He added later that he applied to teach Spanish but was told his accent “isn’t quote, ‘bueno,’ enough.”

Every New York City mayor since Abraham D. Beame, who left office in 1977, has appeared on the show. Bloomberg has reportedly turned down invitations to appear throughout his three terms.

Bloomberg said he didn’t know what the future held.

“President, pope, naked cowboy…I have lots of options,” the mayor said.

Asked by Fallon if he would “choked up” when he has to leave office Jan. 1.

“I might. I’m a very emotional guy,” the mayor said, completely deadpan.
