VIDEO: Suspect sought in two Fishtown robberies

Philadelphia police are seeking the public’s help identifying a man wanted in connection with two robberies in the city’s Fishtown section early Thursday.

The suspect is wanted for robberies at the CVS store at 2638 E. Cumberland St. and the Dunkin’ Donuts store at E. Girard Ave., police said. He is described as white, thin, about 40 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 160 pounds, and he had a mustache and thin beard and was wearing a gray, hooded jacket, black shirt, blue jeans, black knit hat and white sneakers at the time of the robberies.

Video surveillance footage of the suspect robbing the two businesses was posted to Philadelphia Police Department’s YouTube channel Friday morning.

The CVS robbery happened about 2:15 a.m. After placing a candy bar at the checkout counter, the suspect pointed a plastic bag in the shape of a gun at an employee, who yelled for her manager. The suspect fled north on Aramingo Avenue without any money, police said.

Less than two hours later, the same man entered the Dunkin’ Donuts store, pulled a bag from his waistband and pointed the bag at an employee as if he had a gun. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police ask anyone with information about the suspect to call East Detectives Division at 215-686-3243/3244
