Intoxicated Dorchester man drunk-dials Transit Police after getting stuck on train tracks
A Dorchester man’s plea for help landed him in jail over weekend.
Daniel Kenney, 30, called Transit Police late Saturday evening and stated that his vehicle was stuck on the train tracks in Somerville near the BET Mystic train yard. When officers were dispatched, they located his vehicle inside the Boston Engine Terminal Mystic train yard, and saw that the car was rocking back and forth on top of the commuter rail tracks but was unable to dislodge from them.
The officers approached Kenney and inquired as to how he ended up inside the BET facility. They then noticed he appeared intoxicated and smelled of alcohol, and administered field sobriety tests which determined he was drunk.
Kenney was placed into custody for Operating a vehicle while Under the Influence of Liquor, and will be arraigned on Monday in Somerville District Court.
It is not yet determined how Kenney ended up stuck on the tracks in the train yard.
