Woman killed in Northern Liberties robbery identified as Amber Long
The 26-year-old woman who was killed in front of her mother during a robbery-gone-wrong in Northern Liberties Sunday night was identified today by police.
The victim, Amber Long, of the 1700 block of West Ritner Street, was shot once in the chest during a robbery on the 900 block of North Front Street around 10:30 p.m. Long was walking with her mother, who watched as the attacker snatched her purse.
The two men were last seen running North on Front Street with the purse before jumping into a black Impala.
Long was pronounced dead at Hahnemann University Hospital at 11:15 p.m., police said.
In any homicide, the city offers a $20,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a suspect in a homicide.
