A second man facing federal charges for his alleged role in the shooting and robbery of a postal worker in Dorchester was arrested on Monday.

Keyon Taylor, 21, of Boston, had been wanted by police for weeks. He was arrested just after 1 a.m. Monday in the area of Blue Hill Avenue by the Boston police gang unit and U.S. postal service inspectors, police said.

Taylor faces federal charges of conspiracy, kidnapping a federal employee and assault on a federal employee.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service was offering up to a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Taylor. It was not immediately clear if someone would be collecting that reward.

Federal authorities last week requested the public’s help in locating Taylor, who they described as armed and dangerous.

According to a federal affidavit, the postal worker was delivering holiday packages in Dorchester on Dec. 20 when Taylor jumped into the truck and put a gun to the worker’s head. The worker and Taylor fought, during which the worker was shot in the wrist. He was then beaten, stripped and told to lie down.

The worker jumped out of the back of the truck when Taylor began to drive it away, authorities said. Taylor later abandoned the truck.

Authorities said Taylor left boot prints in the snow leading away from the truck, as well as blood on a nearby fence.

Taylor’s alleged partner, Maurice Williams Miner-Gittens, 23, of Dorchester, was arrested last week after an investigation. He was allegedly driving a U-Haul truck used in the robbery.
