Police investigating threatening letter sent to de Blasio
A threatening letter was sent to Mayor Bill de Blasio Friday.
Police are investigating the letter, which was received at City Hall.
The letter did not contain any suspicious substances or powder and did not specifically threaten de Blasio.
The letter contained a nondescript threat and seemed to be a general “rant against the city,” police said.
Authorities said a threatening letter containing powder was found at former Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s Midtown office also on Friday, the same day a handful of hotels near MetLife stadium received letters.
Powder in the letters was found to be harmless.
It was not believed the letters were connected to the one sent to de Blasio.
