Power lines are down across the Delaware Valley due to an ice storm that has left a quarter to a third of an inch of ice across the region.

More than 400,000 electricity customers in southeastern Pennsylvania and South Jersey were without power Wednesday morning as an ice storm moved through the region.

Chester County has been the hardest hit, according to NBC10, with more than 140,000 customers losing power. Nearly 400,000 PECO and PPL Electric customers in southeastern Pennsylvania have been impacted, as well as roughly another 4,000 PSE&G and Atlantic City Electric customers in South Jersey.

Ice covered power lines and tree limbs across the region. A quarter-inch to third of an inch of ice has fallen across the Delaware Valley. Power lines have snapped, trees have fallen and cars have crashed into utility poles.
