Philly organizer’s latest celebrity match-up: DMX v. George Zimmerman

The famed Philadelphia boxing organizer of celebrity match-ups such as one involving “Octomom” Nadya Suleman announced Tuesday night that his latest match-up will pit George Zimmerman against rapper DMX.

Zimmerman, 30, killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, but was acquitted of murder charges due to Florida’s “stand your ground” statutes and a jury that found he acted in self defense.

Now, boxing organizer Damon Feldman will put Zimmerman in the ring with famed rapper DMX.

“I am going to beat the living f-ck out him,” DMX told TMZ. “I am breaking every rule in boxing to make sure I f-ck him right up.”

Feldman has apologized for the fact that, while he announced the fight Tuesday evening, the news has spread today, Feb. 5 – which would have been Martin’s 19th birthday.

Feldman said if he had known, he would have announced it at a different time, Philadelphia Magazine reported.

The match is scheduled for March 15 and will likely take place on the West Coast, and will be streamed via pay-per-view on the internet.

Feldman also said Zimmerman will be in Philadelphia next week for an official press conference to announce the boxing match.

Zimmerman, who is Latino, and was a member of a local town watch, was accused of approaching Martin, getting into a fight with him and shooting him to death due to racial stereotypes. Martin was African American.

“Hey, if he gets beat up, I gave the country justice,” Feldman told Philadelphia Magazine.

Feldman could not be reached immediately for comment.
