Approaching nor’easter prompts 27-hour winter storm warning
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning that includes Philadelphia for 10 p.m. Wednesday through 1 a.m. Friday.
The nor’easter could bring up to 10 inches of snow to parts of the Delaware Valley. Forecasters predict the storm with bring sleet, leaving behind a trace amount of ice, and sustained winds of 10 to 20 mph gusting up to 30 mph.
The NWS winter storm warning covers “far southeastern Pennsylvania,” including the Philadelphia metro area, and “far southwestern New Jersey.” The storm is expected to begin as snow Wednesday night, shift to a snow-sleet mix Thursday morning and possibly even rain Thursday afternoon, then change back to snow Thursday night.
