Schools closed Thursday, city will declare snow emergency
Mayor Michael Nutter said today the city would declare a snow emergency beginning at 8 p.m. tonight.
Philadelphia public schools, as well as schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, have already announced they will be closed on Thursday ahead of the winter storm expected to drop up to a foot of snow overnight.
There have already been flight cancellations at Philadelphia International Airport as the storm is taking hold in the south already.
