The former Philadelphia cop who robbed a drug dealer of $15,000 pleaded guilty today in federal court.

Jeffrey Walker, 45, was arrested and charged in May after an FBI operation found the 24-year veteran planting drugs inside the car of an intended target while on duty.

During the federal surveillance sting on May 21, Walker unwittingly asked a federal witness to help him identify a drug dealer so he could conduct a traffic stop and plant drugs in the car.

The witness pointed Walker toward a car parked outside a bar on West Girard Avenue. Walker then drove up to the car, planted the drugs inside, and then pulled the driver over once he exited the bar.

During the traffic stop Walker took the driver’s house key and then went to the home and took $15,000 from the house.

Federal officials busted Walker as he left the dealer’s home.

Walker, who served in the city’s narcotics department for almost 15 years, was fired shortly after the federal charges were filed. He faces up to 10 years in prison.

Because of the arrest, almost 70 drug-related convictions that involved Walker in state court and with the District Attorney’s office were overturned.

Walker pleaded guilty to attempted robbery, interfering with interstate commerce, and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, according to a news release.
