Police caught in middle of burst of gunfire in North Philadelphia
Two Philadelphia police officers found themselves stuck in the middle of a hail of bullets in North Philadelphia late Thursday.
Neither officer was injured by the gunfire, which included at least 20 shots and left several parked cars with 18 total bullet holes along North 13th Street, 6ABC Action News reported.
The highway patrol officers were traveling along the 2800 block of North 13th Street a little before midnight when they came upon two people firing guns. One suspect was taken into custody at 12th and Cambria streets following a foot chase, and police recovered two semi-automatic handguns from underneath cars.
A woman who was seated in a parked car that was struck by two bullets exited the vehicle and ran from the scene.
Police were still searching for a second suspect at the time of the report.
