Manslaughter charge for botched butt lift death of Queens 22-year-old
A woman was arrested this week in the botched butt lift death of a Queens woman at a Manhattan hotel last summer, officials said.
Police found Tamara Blaine, 22, having a seizure at a room in the Meatpacking District’s Liberty Inn Hotel just after 12:30 p.m. on July 8. The Jamaica resident was rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital and later pronounced dead.
Noting puncture wounds in her buttocks, the medical examiner ruled Blaine’s death a homicide on Oct. 7.
On Monday, police arrested Tamira Mobley, 28, charging her with manslaughter and felony assault.
Investigators believe Mobley, of Wood-Ridge, N.J., killed Blaine during a botched butt lift, injecting her with silicone at the hotel where she was found foaming at the mouth last summer.
It was not immediately clear whether Mobley had an attorney.
