Two-alarm South Jersey house fire kills one person
One person died in a fast-moving house fire in South Jersey on Wednesday morning.
The deadly blaze on East Avenue in Mullica Hill, Gloucester County, was sparked about 4:30 a.m., 6ABC Action News reported. A second alarm was sounded at 5:15 a.m., by which time the home was engulfed in smoke and had flames shooting out of its roof.
Officials confirmed by shortly after 6:15 a.m. that the fire killed one person.
The cause of the deadly fire remains under investigation. It appears it started in the home’s basement.
