Northeast Philadelphia crash kills driver, car catches fire
A motorist was killed when a car crashed into a tree and burst into flames on Roosevelt Boulevard in Northeast Philadelphia late Monday.
The fatal crash happened about 11:15 p.m. along the 4600 block of Roosevelt Boulevard, near Tower Drive, in the Bustleton section, 6ABC Action News reported. Police were not immediately able to identify the victim due to how badly the body was burned in the fire.
Speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash. The driver lost control of the 2011 Mazda, which struck a tree, rolled over on its side and caught fire.
