Pedestrian hit by car in Sullivan Square
A pedestrian was taken to the hospital Tuesday after being struck by a car in Charlestown’s Sullivan Square, not far from where a cyclist was struck and killed last week.
Boston Police said the person was walking near the area around 11:30 a.m. on Alfred Street when they were struck. They were taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with life threatening injuries, police said.
It was the second time in less than a week that a person was struck by a car in Sullivan Square. On Thursday, a bicyclist died after being struck by a garbage truck in an alleged hit-and-run on Spice Street.
The driver in today’s accident remained at the scene, police said.
No further information was available, but police said it is an open investigation. Stay with Metro as this story develops.
