Three people were killed and more than 260 others were injured when a pair of bombs were set off near the finish line of the Boston Marathon on April 15. Authorities have accused brothers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev with placing the bombs. Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed during a shootout with police in Watertown. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has been charged.
In the days following the bombings, President Barack Obama visited Boston and spoke during an event at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in the South End.
Biden also traveled to the Boston area following the bombings to speak during the memorial service for slain MIT Officer Sean Collier.
