Bronx woman fends off attacker in apartment building
Cops are looking for a man suspected of attempting to assault a Bronx woman on Friday morning.
Police released a photo of a suspect who allegedly followed a 48-year-old woman to her Tremont apartment building’s front door at around 6:45 a.m.
The victim made it to the second floor of the building when authorities said the man grabbed and attempted to rape her.
The woman began to scream in her building’s hallway, scaring the attacker off and forcing him to flee.
NYPD arrived soon after, and the victim was taken to a local hospital for evaluation while investigators began to look for her attacker.
Police describe the man as a Hispanic male, between 30 and 35 years old. Between 5 feet, eight and ten inches tall, the suspect was last seen wearing a black jacket over a white T-shirt, blue jeans, light boots and a Philadelphia Phillies baseball cap.
Police are asking anyone who has seen the suspect or with information on the attack to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS or to submit tips online.
