On June 20, throwback hip-hop sensations Salt-N-Pepa will reunite and take the stage at BostonCity Hall Plaza for Phantom Gourmet’s BBQ & Music Festival.

The Grammy-winning group is responsible for chart-topping ‘90s hits like “What a Man,” “Push It” and “Shoop.”

Another ’90s throwback, The Mighty Mighty BossTones, will also play the three-day festival, which will feature award-winning pitmasters from across the globe.

The ska/punk band will perform on June 21 to celebrate lead singer Dicky Barrett’s birthday.

According to organizers, barbecue teams will travel from as far as Australia and Texas to fire up their smokers and serve up the best – and messiest – in Southern fare, which will be available to buy a la carte.

The barbecue-meets-music event will also feature a man-made “beach” and three 21+ beer and wine bar areas. The weekend event wraps up on Sunday with Food, Fun & Family Day.

Tickets for Friday night’s concert are $15 for general admission. More information is available at
