Road rage leads to shooting in Center City streets
Tw0 cars started to honk and holler around Fourth and Lombard streets Saturday night, and by the time the two cars reached Center City, one car occupant pulled out a gun, took aim and fired in a fit of road rage, police said.
Around 7:30 p.m., a newer model red Chevrolet Cobalt tailed another car, which was driven by a 28-year-old woman and occupied by a 20-year-old woman and a 4-month-old baby, from Society Hill to South Broad Street near Lombard Street.
The Cobalt’s driver then started hanging out of his window and screaming.
As the two cars pulled onto Broad Street, an occupant of the Cobalt pulled out a gun and fired. A bullet punched through a rear-window , police said.
Police aren’t yet sure of the specifics that led to the shooting. No injuries were reported.
Police said the Cobalt was last seen heading west on Lombard Street.
Police said it will continue to investigate the incident.
