AT&T brings back mobile charging stations across five boroughs
New Yorkers looking for a high-tech boost can charge their mobile devices for free at more than 45 new stations in local parks and tourist destinations.
Starting Monday, solar-powered “Street Charge” stations operated by telecommunication giant AT&T are being dispersed for use day or night at 20 locations locations across the five boroughs.
The first of the devices was unveiled at the World’s Fair anniversary event on Sunday at Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
And while it’s the second year of the program, AT&T representatives said it expanded both the number of stations and how long they will be out for use.
The stations are scheduled to be out through September at all hours, even if some of the locations have their own closing times.
