Cops: Man attacks two, including teen, with car club in Brooklyn motel
A man broke a teen’s arm and injured another man with a car club in a Brooklyn motel earlier this month because he believed they threw things at his vehicle, police said.
Armed with a Club steering-wheel lock, the attacker barged into the Brooklyn Motor Inn at 140 Hamilton Avenue in Red Hook and struck the 13-year-old boy and 29-year-old man around 12:40 a.m. on May 10, police said.
The boy’s arm broke and both he and the other man suffered cuts to the head, according to police. Both were treated and released from an area hospital.
Some kids had been throwing objects at the attacker’s car, a law enforcement official said, prompting him to follow the victims into the motel and hit them.
It’s unclear if the victims were among those throwing stuff at the man’s car, the official said.
The man, wearing a black vest and long-sleeved white shirt and blue jeans, was caught on surveillance footage clutching the car club. Police described him as 45 to 50 years old.
Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), submit a tip online or text 274637 (CRIMES), then enter TIP577.
