Hubway riders break single-day trips record
Congratulations, Hubway riders!
Those who took to a Hubway bike on Tuesday helped break the bike share system’s single day trips record, the company said.
More than 6,000 trips were taken for the first time ever on Tuesday. The new single-day rides record is now 6,039.
Hubway, which boasts 1,300 bicycles at 140 stations, launched in Boston in 2011 and has become increasingly popular. Since then, it has spread to other cities including Somerville and Cambridge. Last winter, Cambridge piloted a program that tested year-round service, rather than the seasonal program the bike share system operates on now.
“Congratulations! Let’s break the record again,” Hubway posted on its Facebook page.
