MetroCards to get first non English-language ads
Non English-language ads will be on MetroCards for the first time in MTA history this weekend.
Immigration law firm Youman, Madeo & Fasano LLP purchased a print run of 250,000 MetroCards in Spanish, officials announced Thursday.
Half of the new cards advertise the law firm and the other half promotes a TV show about immigration issues produced by the firm.
The cards will be distributed from 10 targeted stations beginning Saturday.
The MTA has sold ads on the back of MetroCards for nearly two decades and offered space on the front of cards starting in 2012.
While the MTA doesn’t disclose the price of specific advertising campaigns, ads on the front and back of MetroCards cost 25 to 45 cents per card.
