The National Puerto Rican Day Parade, festivals and fairs will cause some street closures in New York City this weekend.
The NYPD said to expect traffic delays in and near all the events.
Saturday, June 7
From 12 to 5 p.m., the Abrazo de Barrio Street Festival will close Third Avenue from 106th and 122nd Streets and 116th Street between Lexington and Second Avenues.
The Lenox Hill Neighborhood House 1st Avenue Festival will close First Avenue between 68th and 79th Streets from 12 to 5 p.m.
Streets along and near Madison Avenue between 23rd and 28th Streets and Broadway between 25th and 26th Streets will be closed for the Big Apple Barbecue Block Party from 11 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.
No streets will be closed, but the Bronx Summer Fest on Louis Nine Boulevard between Southern Boulevard and Jennings Street may cause delays from 12 to 4 p.m.
At 1 p.m., a ceremony will be held to rename part of South Fourth Street near Hewes Street in Brooklyn “John Mulhern Way.” No streets will be closed but the event may cause delays.
Sunday, June 8
The National Puerto Rican Day Parade will cause closures and delays near and along its route on Fifth Avenue between 42nd and 79th Streets from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
No streets will be closed, but the Summer Sundays in the Heights may cause delays on Edward Morgan Place between 156th and 157th Streets from 1 to 5 p.m.
The Tilden Midtown Democratic Club & Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church Fair will close Third Avenue from 23rd to 34th Streets between 11 and 6 p.m.
The northbound lanes of Broadway between 73rd and 86th Streets will be closed from 12 to 5 p.m. for the 37th Annual Plantathon and Crafts Fair.
From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. the 86th Street Bensonhurst Street Festival will close 86th Street between 19th Avenue and Bay Parkway in Brooklyn.
Streets won’t be closed, but there may be delays near Tysens Lane and Hyland Boulevard at 2 p.m. for a street-renaming ceremony for “John ‘Jack’ Hynes Way.”
