First grade class taken to hospital after student brought drugs to school
A first-grade class at Barry Elementary School in West Philadelphia has been taken to the hospital, according to reports, after a teacher there found a student of hers playing with a small packet of drugs.
According to Philly.com, the teacher instructed the child to drop the objects and had all students evacuate the classroom. Paramedics were called as well as police.
Drugs can be absorbed through the skin, so the school nurse there checked the children. The substance was confirmed to be a narcotic so officials took the entire class to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
