Two men stole $17,000 worth of laptops from Manayunk elementary school, police say
Police released surveillance video Monday which shows two young men stroll into a Manayunk elementary school and walk out with $17,000 worth of Apple computers.
The two juveniles entered the Dobson School, at 4667 Umbria Street, through an unlocked front door on June 10 at 6:15 a.m., police said.
Police said the two juveniles then broke into a charging cart in a second-floor classroom and removed 13 MacBook laptops that in total were valued at $17,927.
The two were seen on the video carrying out the computers in a green, camouflage duffel bag.
In February a man was caught on surveillance video stealing eight MacBook computers from Southwark Elementary School in South Philadelphia.
The suspects were described as two juvenile males in their mid to late teens clad in hooded sweatshirts.
