UPDATE: Sketch of Rittenhouse rapist released
Police today are continuing to look for a suspect they say forced a 26-year-old woman inside her Rittenhouse apartment, sexually assaulted her and then robbed her around 1:20 a.m. on Saturday.
A second more clear surveillance video has been released today by Philadelphia Police that shows the man wait for a woman to walk by then follows her and approaches her.
Police said the woman was walking home from Ladder 15 tavern at 15th and Sansom streets to her apartment on the 1900 block of Spruce Street around 1 a.m. when she was approached by a Hispanic man between the ages of 25 and 30.
The man allegedly pushed her toward her building’s entrance and while holding her by the neck, forced her to open her front door.
Once inside, he forced her upstairs and into her apartment where he sexually assaulted her, police said. The suspect also stole her iPhone and keys before leaving the house. He then reentered the house minutes later.
Police described the man as standing between 5-foot-5-inches and 5-foot-10-inches tall with a thin build and black hair. He carried a black messenger bag and rode a bicycle prior to the scene and locked it up on the street before approaching the victim, police said.
