SEPTA schedule for the 4th of July 2014 includes extra service
Celebrating the birth of the nation in the cradle of American independence? You’ll probably need to use SEPTA to get around.
Luckily, SEPTA will run additional services all day on Friday, July 4, including extra late-night service after the fireworks.
Market-Frankford and Broad Street:
Starting at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 4, extra trains will be added to the Broad Street Line and the Market-Frankford Line, with trains running every five to seven minutes until 1:15 a.m.
After midnight Friday, SEPTA’s night owl service will kick in, with trains on the Market-Frankford and Broad Street lines running every 20 minutes until 5 a.m.
Regional rail service is extended until 12:45 a.m. for guests watching the fireworks on the Ben Franklin Parkway. Seventeen trains will leave Suburban Station between 11:30 p.m. and 12:45 a.m. making all local stops. Click to see the schedule for each specific Regional Rail line.
Extra service will be offered on the trolleys “as needed” for the Routes 10, 11, 13, 34, and 36 trolleys, SEPTA said.
Due to celebrations on the Parkway, bus travelers can expect detours on the following routes: 5, 7, 9, 17, 21, 33, 38, 42, 43, 44, 47, 48, 57 and 61. Some delays will begin Wednesday, July 3, as preparations for the Parkway celebrations get underway.
