Cops are on the lookout for two would-be robbers who forced themselves into an Upper West Side apartment before assaulting two people inside.

Authorities two unidentified men walked into the doorman building along West End Avenue and up to the apartment’s door on Saturday at about 3:50 a.m.

The suspects knocked on the door, which was answered by a 24-year-old woman. Police said the men then fought their way inside the apartment and began to attack both the woman and a 32-year-old man in the home with her with a metal flashlight.

The men reportedly fled the scene soon after the attack without having taken anything from the apartment.

Paramedics rushed both victims to St. Luke’s Hospital with trauma to their heads and faces. The woman was treated and released; the man was admitted for observation and remains in stable condition.

Video surveillance shows the suspects entering an elevator. Both white men, one suspect is thought to be in his late 40s or early 50s and approximately 6 feet tall, 200 pounds and bald.

The second alleged attacker is described as 40 years old, about 5-feet-9-inches tall, 200 pounds and with black hair.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS or to submit tips online.
