The Department of Transportation and NYPD said there may be residual delays near all of the street closures on August 29, 31 and 31. Several streets and avenues will be closed for the West Indian American Day Carnival in Brooklyn and the Brazilian American Cultural Street Festival in Manhattan. Plan accordingly.
Friday, August 29
Stone Street between Hanover Square and Broad Street and Mill Lane between Stone Street and South William Street will remain closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m until for the Stone Street Pedestrian Mall.
Mulberry Street between Canal Street and Broome Street and Mill Lane between Stone Street and South William Street will be closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5:30 p.m to 9 p.m for the Little Italy Pedestrian Mall.
Saturday, August 30
Liberty Street between Broadway and Trinity Place in Manhattan will be closed from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. for the First Police Precinct Explorers Block Party.
The Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit will be from 12 Noon to 6pm and will close streets in areas between 12th Street and University Place to West 4th Street and Washington Square.
The West Indian American Day Carnival will take place in Brooklyn and there will be street closures and delays along and around St. John’s Place between Kingston and Franklin Avenue, and President Street between Franklin Avenue and Washington Avenue. Plan accordingly
Sunday, August 31
Sixth Avenue between west 42nd Street and West 56th Street and 46th Street between Madison Avenue and 7th Avenue in Manhattan will be closed from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m for the Brazilian American Cultural Street Festival.
Clove Road between Victory Boulevard and Forest Avenue and Martling Avenue between Clove Road and Slosson Avenue in Staten Island will be closed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m for the annual Celiac Run.
