Gabrielle Giffords returns to Congress to vote (VIDEO)
Last night, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords made her first appearance in Congress since being shot to vote on the debt ceiling agreement, and as with most things in our political world there were two competing opinions about the event.
Was it a heartwarming sign of hope and possibility, a woman who had literally been shot in the head only months before returning to work to cast a crucial vote to save the economy from teetering off a cliff?
Or was it a cynical ploy, Congress trotting out an injured colleague in a hollow attempt to spin some sort display of unity out of the craven politicking and cowardice that had marked the entire debt ceiling debate so far?
Is it possible for it to be both?
What do you think?
