Black Friday madness hit hard this year

Black Friday has turned into a survival of the fittest. It’s a sport: the most aggressive, craziest, and well-armed person wins.

Every year there are always several incidents that make us scratch our head and wonder, “Why?” Why do people wake up in the middle of the night to go shopping? Why do they trample over people on the ground? So many questions, readers.

To aid your ultimate laziness, we’ve compiled a list of Black Friday 2011 incidents.

A California woman was accused of using pepper-spray to ward off other shoppers at a Walmart. She later turned herself in. So we wonder, has Lt. John Pike started a very unfortunate and painful trend?

Moving to a Walmart on the East Coast, police had to use a taser gun to subdue a rowdy shopper.

For those keeping track at home, other Walmart attacks include: carjackings, robberies at gunpoint, some more tasing, and bomb threats in Colorado, Missouri and Alaska.

Walmart chimed in about Black Friday.

“Except for a few unfortunate incidents, we’ve heard positive feedback from customers and our associates going through the biggest shopping day of the year,” said spokesman Greg Rossiter.

Not all the madness happened in Walmart. In a Target in West Virginia, people stepped over a man who had collapsed and was dying.

All in all, Americans spent more than 14 billion dollars this past Friday. according to ShopperTrak.

And just like that, we lost even more faith in humanity.
