Lululemon exec steps down after see-through yoga pant recall

Apparently,  the patience of Lululemon’s top executives has run about as thin as the fabric on the backsides of the company’s recalled yoga pants —  Chief product officer Sheree Waterson will see her last day at the athletic clothing company on April 15.

Of course, it’s not confirmed that Waterson’s departure was a direct result of the yoga pant scandal heard-round-the-world, but the five-year veteran seems to be exiting quite quickly after the product flaw was exposed (No pun intended. Ok, fine — pun intended).

After women started noticing their yoga classes seeming more like peep shows upon catching glimpses of themselves in the mirror during downward-facing dog, the company recalled its black pants made with its signature “Luon” fabric, saying the garment fell short of technical specifications. That recall affected about 17 percent of women’s pants sold in Lululemon stores.

Shares of the popular Vancouver-based company quickly dropped more than 4 percent on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

The supplier, a Taiwanese textile company, blamed Lululemon for the embarrassing gaffe, claiming it followed the company’s specifications and obviously Lululemon had “misjudged” their customers’ tastes. Whoever is to blame for exposing the bottoms of yogis everywhere, Waterson may be taking the fall.

“We appreciate the many contributions that Sheree made during her time with Lululemon, particularly in the area of design,” Lululemon’s CEO Christine Day, said in a statement, according to CNN.

Maybe Victoria’s Secret is hiring?
