Two explosions were heard in Copley Square Monday afternoon around 2:45 p.m. at the Boston Marathon finish line on Boylston Street and the area has been locked down.

As of 4:05 p.m. the Boston Police Department are confirming 2 people dead, 22 injured. Boston Marathon officials are saying the explosions were caused by bombs. No one from the police or fire departments have confirmed this.

A Metro photographer on the scene said that he saw several injured individuals who had lost limbs.

The hotel that serves as headquarters for the Boston Marathon was locked down as well.
