AMC’s ‘Breaking Bad’ is an intense show. It can be violent, graphic and difficult to watch at times, but at the end of the day it’s a fictional television show. One alleged murderer was supposedly inspired by the show’s violence.

The roommate of a Washington man accused of strangling his girlfriend and then trying to dispose of her body in a plastic tub full of acid said his roommate was allegedly inspired by ‘Breaking Bad,’ which is the accused man’s favorite television show.

“The only thing I know or feel about it – that was his favorite series,” Dean Settle, the roommate, told KREM 2. “That’s what he told me. I think he used it as instructions to go do what he was doing to dispose the body.”

‘Breaking Bad’ fans will remember one of the very first episodes of season where Walter White tells Jesse Pinkman to dispose the body of a drug dealer they killed by putting it in a tub full of hydrofluoric acid. Jesse, being Jesse, puts the body in the bathtub instead. No one will ever forget the graphic scene that followed.

Investigators found this specific episode titled “Cat’s in the Bag” queued up on Jason Hart’s DVD player shortly after his girlfriend’s body was found in a tub in Hart’s garage.

Hart’s wife, who had left him and taken with her their two kids, said Hart, 27, suffered from PTSD. He served in Iraq which made him “a completely different person,” she said.

Hart was charged with second degree murder and pleaded not guilty.
