An outbreak of a bacterial infection that sickened people has been reported in several states, causing Whole Foods Markets to recall Crave Brothers Les Freres cheese. At least one person has died from the bacterial infection.

The cheese may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, according to Whole Foods.

The product was sold in 30 states and Washington D.C. The names on the packaging include Les Freres and Crave Brothers Les Freres.

According to the New York Daily News the cheese was cut and packaged in clear plastic wrap and sold with Whole Foods Market scale labels.

Most illnesses were reported in June in at least three states, including Illinois and Minnesota. Minnestoa officials said that one elderly person died by an illness linked to the cheese.

Whole Foods is posting signs in its stories to inform customers about the recall.
