VIDEO: Obama helps fainting woman during his speech
A pregnant woman who was standing behind President Barack Obama during a speech in the Rose Garden on Monday almost fainted, and the video of Obama turning around to help her has gone viral.
Obama was talking about the widespread problems on the Obamacare website when Karmel Allison began to lose balance and tried to fight a fainting spell.
The president paused his remarks, turned around and caught the woman’s arm.
“This happens when I talk too long,” he joked.
An aide soon came out and escorted Allison out.
She later tweeted, “I’m ok world, just got a little lightheaded. Thanks @BarackObama for catching me!”
Allison, who was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 9 years old, was among a group of individuals who have benefited from the healthcare law and was invited to stand behind the president on Wednesday, according to the White House.
